Say Goodbye to Hollywood, say goodbye my baby...

Billy Joel's song comes to mind for me today as I am only a few days away from starting a new job, here in Houston. Yes, a JOB. This marks the end of my television freelance career and my return back to Corporate America. Of course, I am excited, the job will provide very nicely for me in a number of ways and will add structure back into my life. Ouch, I am happy and sad at the same time. Gone are my afternoon naps, (I never really took them but had the option too if I wanted) gone are the worries of freelance employment, (will I get enough hours next week so I can pay the rent?) and gone are my excuses for not taking care of myself because I didn't have the right insurance, etc. So, I'm headed back to the wold of payroll, memos and meetings. Actually I am very excited about this. Contact me offline for the details.

What's the job what's the job? I hear a quote from the office space right now ringing in my ears..."this Friday will be Hawaiian shirt day" or something to that effect. Ha, teasin EM, am excited for you and somewhat jealous...I'm kinda cravin' civilian life myself: real weekends, real holidays, none of this call you and come in by the seat of your pants stuff!

It'sn a big difference being back not only in Corporate America but at a management level. It actually takes less energy to get so much done at this level then it did dealing with the "personalities" in my previous career, or should I say attempt at a career. I've still not watched television since leaving NY in August.
