As Jerry Sienfeld would say "What's the deal with Technology?"
Technology is wonderful and I've often been accused of being an early adopter of things new and promising. I do have one thought to share, and it's more of a conclusion, an observation, a cry for help perhaps.
I believe as I travel down the long plastic and shallow hallway of the high tech world on my quest to get all things "electronic" working in my new apartment, that the only technology out there that without question, is "rock solid" is the equipment that provides hour after hour entertainment as we wait on telephone hold to speak with a human being. This fact transcends every industry.
This has been my week from hell as I battled Vonage, Ygnition Cable, AllTEL, AT&T, Geico and Reliant Energy. I know I am not alone in this regard so to you fellow "telephone holders" I offer this link to the serenity prayer.
And this week's special mention goes out to "Bill" in India where he works as a Customer Servie Rep for AT&T. Bill managed so successfully to push all my buttons just a few days ago and in doing so we together invented yet another new hi-tech method where he was able to hear me in India without the telephone! Way to go Bill!
More soon!
