Here is where the adventure begins

OK, in order to register my car in Texas I (including everyone else) need to have the car inspected. Exhaust emissions are part of the test. Of course, prior to leaving NY, I spent over 300.00 having this repaired but somewhere between Long Island and Houston, Texas the phantom emissions system decided to reset itself. So, here we are in Texas, one day left before my license plates expire and all the inspection stations are busy. Of course, I manage to find one who tells me that another 300.00 repair is needed to fix the problem. A day later, and 300.00 lighter, the problem still exists, the computer will NOT pass my car and new license plates are as far away as the moon on a hot summer night. Have you ever spent hours haning around a garage? It's not fun but you meet the most amazing people.
